Willow Christmas Traditions

We are just a few more sleeps away from Christmas Day! What a wonderful time of year this is – so wonderful in fact, that we thought we would share the Willow team’s favourite Christmas traditions/what we love most about the Christmas season.

Michelle C: My favourite part of Christmas is watching my son Brett wake up and realize it’s Christmas morning & Santa has been to our home. His joy and excitement are the most meaningful to me.

Sarah: My favourite Christmas tradition is having tapas & wine with my partner and family on Christmas eve. We all get into our “comfies” and devour an unreal spread of food under the light of the Christmas tree.

Michelle D: I love going home for Christmas to spend time with family and friends both new and old. It’s a time of year to spend time with people I don’t get to see as often as I would like.

Denise: My favourite things about Christmas are decorating my tree listening to Christmas music on Google Play, watching corny holiday movies and eating lots of cheese! I love collecting food donations and giving gifts, seeing people & reconnecting with people. That’s the best.

Amanda: My favourite thing about Christmas is stockings! I love all the tiny, practical gifts that we exchange every year.

Sophia: Christmas eve is my Grandmother’s birthday. Every year the family throws her a big dinner party with a roast beef buffet and drinks, and family comes together from all over Canada. I love Christmas music, especially choral music. Some of my favourite concerts to attend around Halifax are Carols in the Cathedral at All Saints, and Lessons and Carols at St. Andrew’s Church.

Sylvia: My favorite thing about Christmas is time spent with family – without the hustle & bustle and stress – just to relax and unwind with loved ones by my side… Of course with a glass of wine in my hand!!

We’d love to hear from all of you about your Christmas traditions & what makes the holidays so special for you!
